Diamond beauty.

Marina Diamandis (aka Marina and the Diamonds) has an amazing onstage presence.
Check out some of her outfits from tours in 2009 and 2010.
Her style is like a mixed bag of random goodies. It's obvious the girl adores fun clothing, actually she says most of the clothing she likes are "quite gaudy or kinda horrendous" so doesn't really believe in fashion faux pas! That's a pretty cool attitude, I must say.
I really admire her kooky, outrageous choices.

Oh and she sings pretty good too!;) Check out her version of 3OH3's Starstrukk.

My guitar hero - VV.

I'm dedicating my 100th post to the super awesome woman best known for being one half of two-piece rock outfit, The Kills - Alison Mosshart!
There's no use hiding it anymore: my dream ever since I was 15 was to be a rock star. And Alison is exactly the kind of rock star I want to be. With three solid albums with The Kills under her belt, and last year joining supergroup The Dead Weather  - she's pretty much the epitome of rock and roll; the perfect rock front woman.
Messy hair, lots of black, leather and a stick of Marlboro lights between her lips - this girl radiates cool.
(Ok maybe except the smoking, but at least this contributes to her recognizably snarly vocals!)
The Dead Weather have a new album coming out on May 11th called 'Sea of Cowards'. I can't hardly wait! Check out the songs below. My favourite Dead Weather song is 'Cut Like a Buffalo' but the filmclip for the song below is pretty cool.

U R A Fever - The Kills

Treat Me Like Your Mother - The Dead Weather
PS - 100 posts - woah! Thanks to my followers by the way, I hope I'm keeping you somewhat entertained!

The coolest cat.

I don't know where to draw the line... when you're having such a huge girlcrush on someone, it should be considered more than a crush at some point.. right? ;)
Basically it was only recently via twitter and facebook that I discovered that the ever-hip, super talented graffiti artist Fafi had her own blog, which like the rest of us, features mostly daily outfit posts. They're my favourite part of her blog. Her style is amazing. What's cool about it is she wears heaps of items from Uniqlo, H&M, Zara and other affordable fashion stores, along with designer outfits from Hermes, Moschino and etc.
She's truly a fashion icon in her own right.
This one is my favourite look. The thigh-highs, the lingerie as outerwear, the rock & roll belt.
I had to stop myself at 12 images. I pretty much love all her outfits though, she can slip into any sexy cheracter she wants to. I guess those little minx fafinette characters she creates are all little pieces of her own personality.

So what's your favourite Fafi look?

Little V.

If I looked like this every time I stepped outside the house, I'd be a very happy girl.
These are a couple of my favourite red carpet looks of Vanessa Hudgens.
Short and flowy - sexy but still age appropriate.
My most favourite is second from the top right - that 'rockmelon' coloured gown is gorgeous, perfect with her tan.
And her hair is always so lovely. I wonder what shampoo she uses...
(Rockmelon wtf, I'm having a mental blank on what you'd call that colour)

Bit by bats.

Just a post with some beautiful images of Natasha Khan - Bat for Lashes.
She has an amazing look. AND FACE PAINT MAKEUP.

New girlcrush: Zoe Kravitz.

You know those girls that are able to throw anything on and look great?
Sometimes you really wanna hate them but can't - they just look too good!
Zoe Kravitz was pretty much born into style with parents like Lenny and Lisa Bonet.
She's a true flower child. Effortlessly bohemian, a little messy but super sexy.
While sourcing for photos to share I actually had to stop myself from saving more - every outfit I've seen her in is amazing.
Click on the image to enlarge.
The outfits above are more her street style I guess. Doesn't mean she can't scrub up nicely.
If you saw pictures of her at the 2010 Oscar awards you'll see she looks beautifully elegant in a velvet two toned gown.
She also sings in a band called Elevator Fight. Haven't listened to them much, just been browsing youtube for their songs. From what I've heard she's got that cute squeaky rockchick voice and some funky moves. I am seriously girlcrushing right now. She's so awesome.

Lucy In Disguise.

I love Lily Allen so it saddens me that she announced she is taking a break from making music. The exciting news though, is that she will be starting up her own vintage fashion store.
Lily is partnering with her sister, Sarah Owen to create Lucy In Disguise.
“It’s about making fashion democratic. That’s the idea behind it. It’s about getting really nice clothes but letting people rent them for affordable prices so they can go out and feel like a million dollars and it won’t cost them a million dollars,”
It's happening sometime this month in London. I can't wait to hear more about it!
I think Lily Allen is one of the most gorgeous girls ever. Ok, at times she seems to be a bit of a spaz, but most other times she looks lovely. I love that her attitude on life is something like "this is who I am and screw you if you don't like it".
I've never seen her live in concert, but I'd love to one day.
If anyone knows more about Lucy in Disguise, please keep me posted!

Jessica Alba.

Of course, we all know the gorgeous Jessica Alba from the movies. But to be honest, I wasn't really a fan, or hardly took notice of her much whilst flicking through magazines. Lately though, I have been paying attention to her because I've noticed her style is kind of evolving. She's one of the few Hollywood actresses that actually experiment with fashion now. I'm not sure if she always has been like this, but lately the outfits I've seen her in are just amazing. Props to her stylists (or to Jessica who could have decided these for herself)!
These are four of my favourite outfits of hers that I've seen recently.
1. Dressed in MiuMiu at the premiere of Sugar, March 2009. The tights and mini, the vintage-esque top - I love it!
2. People's Choice Awards, January 2010 - looking super sleek and sexy in an Antonio Beradi mini-dress. Those legs!
3. Thanks to Charmaine for showing me this picture... $8000 Proenza Schouler mini-dress and Marc Jacobs platforms at the premiere of Valentines Day, February 2010.
4. I actually don't know the designer of her outfit at this red carpet premiere event but I love how she's clashed the green checkered dress with the blue boots. Not every day you see Hollywood actresses attend events in a 'street style' outfit. And of course, she's dressed quite appropriately for London's chilly weather.

What do you think of her outfits above?
I'll definitely be keeping my eye on her from now on; I can't wait to see what she'll be dressed in next.

Do you remember Agathe Bjørnsdatter?

Agathe, the quintessential fashion blogger, updated her blog stylebytes several times a week, letting us into her wardrobe and weekends in her hometown of Oslo. She started back in 2005 with thrift tips and DIY tricks but in her later posts, you see her getting more creative with photography (and of course, who could forget her pet pig, Molvin). A regular feature in other fashion blogs and even magazines, Agathe truly was the perfect thrift style queen.
Her last blog post was dated April 2008 where she mentioned she was leaving on a trip to Stockholm and then, unfortunately for us, her loyal readers, she hasn't updated since.
Many months after her absence there were quite a few posts from readers asking 'where is Agathe?' and theories on why she stopped blogging. Maybe she just got bored and wanted her private life back. Or maybe something bad happened. I believe Agathe is OK though, and she still looks gorgeous as ever.
Below are a few of my favorite photos from stylebytes, and examples of Agathe's individual style. I remember first reading her blog when I came back to Dubai in November 2006. I wasn't working for the first few months, so was online a lot, and with Melbourne still on my mind, experimenting with styles. She's a great role model for looking chic on a low budget.
Also what I loved about her was that she was always way before the 'trend'. Believe me, if we'd seen something cool, Agathe most definitely tried it out and blogged about it first. So, this is a tribute to http://stylebytes.net/, in my opinion still the best fashion blog ever.

Zooey Deschanel.

One Hollywood starlet's style that I've always admired is the delightful Zooey Deschanel.
She can be described as offbeat, quirky, sweet, indie, etc, but whatever category she gets put into, there's no denying she sits there perfectly dressed! I'm a girly girl and I love wearing dresses all the time, so it's great seeing Zooey work the circuit in sweet dresses, but nothing too glam like the rest of Hollywood.
What I like about her look is that it's accessible and modest. Accessible in a way that although she fits in at these big events, she also wouldn't be out of place on a dinner date with a partner, or a night out with the girls. I feel the girl's got an 'old soul', and can pretty much get away with anything fashionwise. She could rock up to an event in a cardboard box with a cute little bow in her hair and still look amazing. :-)
To Do List:
1. Become bff's with Zooey Deschanel
2. Once bff's, totally borrow all her cool clothes
3. Ask her to introduce me all the cool muso friends of her husband Ben Gibbard (YES, of Death Cab For Cutie)
4. Marry a cool indie rocker and dress super cute all the time
5. Slowly become a carbon copy of Zooey Deschanel
Obsessed? Me? Never!
