While most of my Dubai-based fashion blogger friends sat front row at the fashion shows this week, I sat at home recovering from dental surgery. Not fun, and totally not fair! (PS - I think it's SO AWESOME that event organizers understand the influence that some bloggers have, and let them take a seat in the front row - well done!).
Iconic.
These pictures are from the Iconic show. Iconic is a newly opened lifestyle store at Deira City Centre. I visited the other week and loved it! They stock over 250 brands so definitely something for every occasion and budget! I love the girly grunge mix and the candy-popping colours on the models.
More looks from the Iconic show, showing a more dressy side of what they offer.
MIMI Fashion Designs by Mariam Al Mazro.
UAE designer Mariam Al Mazro showcased a beautiful range of flowing, light materials in bright and bold prints. Not only would these designs be popular with the local market, but as we see kaftans, turbans and the like more and more on the Western fashion scene, no doubt these will also be popular with a wider market.
Si Fashion Galerie.
Si Fashion Galerie pride themselves on providing luxe clothing to flatter any figure.
I'm just in love with the colours in this show.
Michael Cinco.
I think Michael Cinco wowed everyone with his fabulously sculpted pieces, laced with oriental influence.
Warda Couture by Rahil Hesan.
Another UAE designer with dresses that play with the idea of relaxed elegance.
HSY by Hassan Sheheryar Yasin
I can see why the HSY show was called the hottest of the whole event. The Pakistani and Middle Eastern inspired designs are both earthy and elegant. Those jeweled headpieces are BEAUTIFUL. I love them!
Amato by Furne One.
Philippines designer Furne One definitely provided the highlight of the whole event with his 'forest' dreams inspired line. My best buddy Mabellie said she sat there, jaw dropped in amazement. Wish I could have seen this show for myself. It looked epically wonderful.
